Add audio to your blog
There is another tool available to bloggers (people who maintain blogs) using Blogger.com which enables bloggers to create audio clips over the phone. This tool, called AudioBlogger is available without charge .... although the call to record is on your nickle like anyother long distance call you place. Here is an example of such an audio that I created using the free AudioBlogger service :
You can extract the link for the audioblog audio file. For example here is the link to the audio
file linked to the graphic above.
http://www.audblog.com/media/6309/56897.mp3
You can always copy the html code for the link with the button using the editorial interface where you edit postings to your Blogger supported weblog. The html to the link (or the graphic button with link imbedded) can be posted anywhere on the web. You can also deliver the link or the graphic via email.
Here are some points on using text vs. audio format. Much of what follows was suggested in a comment posted to another blog by Rich Persaud:
1. Our senses are neither interchangeable nor superfluous. Visual and auditory cognition use distinct regions of the brain.
2. Audio is prefered by and has a greater impact on those who relate better to material they listen to while, on the other hand, text is prefered by and of greater impact on those who relate better to material they read.
3. Using an audio button, rather than automatically playing the audio when the web page is called, makes audio optional so those who prefer text are not irritated.
4. You can read text and listen to audio at the same time, especially if you avoid sub-vocalizing the written text. You can't read two blog entries at the same time.
5. Tone of voice carries more information than the semantic content of text.
